3 Things you can do for your overall health.

If there’s one bedrock tenet to live by, it’s this: Small changes add up when it comes to having a healthier lifestyle.

Let’s be honest here: Most of us are not totally ready to overhaul our diet and change our lifestyle. At the same time, most of us would like to be healthier, both physically and mentally. Why not start small? Marie Kondo-style!

Here are 3 Things you can do now:

Workout

Use your body to heal your body.

Everyone knows exercise is good for your overall wellness, but most people find it difficult to incorporate exercise into their daily routine. Greg, a firefighter, supports the arduous work he does daily by staying physically fit. We visited him at the CrossFit gym where he works out weekly to speak with him about the importance of staying on top of his physical health. He mentioned that before every workout, he preps his body with a pre-workout routine ( e.i running, jumping jacks) which increases his range of motion, promotes flexibility and helps to avoid injury.

Typically, when you do any type of workout, you will inevitably experience some form of soreness. Greg shared he likes to use CBD to “chill out his muscles” after the intense activity he puts his body through. He uses the CBD Botanical Balm on his neck and hands to help with muscle soreness.

His Physical wellness supports his Mental wellness, after all, exercise produces endorphins and endorphins makes you happy.

Sleep

Gotta get those zzz’s in.

On the opposite side of exercise; sleep plays a vital role in the health of your body and mind. Getting proper sleep can help protect your mental health, physical health, and overall quality of life. Sleep allows your brain to clear waste, reenergize and repair your muscles. It also plays a vital role in regulating mood, appetite and vitality.

Good Sleep = Good Life

Deep Sleep gives the body and mind a great chance to rebuild, better preparing it to take on the tasks of everyday life.

Eat Well

The holy grail of all health.

It’s no secret that eating a well-balanced diet will help you with the energy needed to fuel your exercise performance, everyday activities and feeds the brain with good nutrients. Following a healthy diet includes choosing plenty of lean proteins, vegetables, fruits, starch foods & carbs, and plant based fats. This also means leaving out or occasionally eating processed, high in sugar, saturated fats and high sodium foods.

Healthier food choices supports daily energy, feeds your muscles, promotes good mood and deep sleep.
